Second female diver with SCI in Adriatic region …

In following articles (news & movies)) we’ll try to present you second female diver in Adriatic region that pushed the limits of SCI divers on the level beyond your imagination. She proved that with systematic work and on the first place with assistance of SCI divers trough diving course one star level can be done in less than two months.
Klaudija first appeared on July 17th 2008 just to make the appointment for diving course. She was a great mystery because so far we didn’t deal with individuals who were on the wheelchair since childhood. The problem was that we didn’t have anyone like her so we were hesitating to start the course.
She was persistent and she was keep coming so we started “illegally” with great deal of fear.
We used wet suit from other diver with SCI until we have got her own. Practical training was in Olympic pool supervised by C.M.A.S. instructor and SCI assistants. After thirty hours in the pool she was ready for open water.
On Avgust the 2nd 2008 we went to Kostrena – Rijeka to dive “The Wall” where all divers with SCI finished their practical course.
Kostrena is specific because it offers conditions for exercises for all levels in recreational and technical diving.
We made two dives on the wall. During first dive she was a little insecure but after second dive she was much better.
Further on we made more dives on Adriatic coast in different conditions. High air consumption which was over the normal rate later on felt on around 20 l/minute at the min. water temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and average 40 minute duration.
For all dives we have been using standard diving equipment (Elios 6 mm tailored made two pc wet suit, AP Valves Ranger BCD, Apeks ATX 50 regulators, Uwatec (Air Z) and Suunto (Vytec) dive computers).
From Avgust the 2nd until September the 19th we made eight dives in open water with average depths around 13 m and duration up to 40 minutes. Min. water temperature was 16 degrees Celsius and the max. depth was 20 meters. All dives were no deco with safety stops.
Klaudija made two dives per day which was not a practice for beginners before. So far we didn’t noticed nothing exceptional.
