EUBS 2012 - Belgrade

European Underwater and Baromedical Society

Between 12 and 15 September the 38th annual scientific meeting EUBS (European Underwater and Baromedical Society), which applies to the World Congress of Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine, was in Belgrade in Serbia. More than 300 participants from 36 countries were greeted by excellent organization and although we secretly expect legendary Serbian hospitality by Mile Zaric and Mariana Saddler, the team outperformed themselves. The meeting took place at an extremely high level and the topics that were presented were really good quality.
The honorary guest was Professor Dr. Stracimir Gosovic, who is the father of underwater and hyperbaric medicine in the former Yugoslavia. Slovenian colors at the meeting represented only IAHD Adriatic, which is the third time (Aberdeen, Istanbul) actively participated with the theme of Diving under the ice, and the University Clinical Center Maribor, which is a very interesting topic (The Effect of Ice on Peripheral Skin Diving temperatures on Divers with Spinal Cord Injury - A Preliminary report) represented by Urska Gajsek, MD. Both theme made comprehensive information about the project Diving under the ice for people after Spinal Cord Injury, which is the only project of its kind in the world.
In addition to this interesting and eminent scientists enliven the action is entertaining, which are prepared by the organizers of the evening. Rakia party was just one of them and it was quite necessary effort, we collected the following morning. Next EUBS will be in France on the island of Reunion and we hope that we will then prepare something interesting.
