International diving camp for disabled divers

Between 16 and 22 October we organized the international diving camp for disabled divers from Slovenia (Damjan Peklar, Ales Povse Yoda, Igor Krisch, Peter Majcen), Croatia (Ivo Lovrenovic) and Russia (Nikita Vankov).
After the initial incident with van (some tires were too many others under-inflated, the engine had too little oil) we were driving to Mlini near Dubrovnik, where we were already expecting other participants on the camp.
Our Russian friends were waiting for us with traditional welcome in the form of small gifts and toasts with vodka. We were very impatient, what will show to us the first Russian disabled diver Nikita Vankov, who is the quadriplegic. We were pleasantly surprised by his knowledge, only when he was putting on his jacket, it was better not to be too close to him as you casually get around the ears. The only adjustment we made was to move the weights from leg to a belt.
Diving was great. Nice weather and a lot of fish and octopuses, this time also a lot of small groupers and also a lot of small parrotfish, which we have never seen before in the Adriatic Sea. We also dive to wreck Taranto. The hull of the wreck is buried in the sedimentary bottom at the depth of 52m the close vicinity of the Dubrovnik port of Gruz and because of great visibility we could see - the rest of the load of the wreck. A special experience was also a dive in the cave with a large hall at the beginning, where there was a lot Mediterranean fan worms, shrimps and few hakes.
We have been interesting for the Croatian national and local televisions, so almost all the time someone filming our diving days on the Aquarius catamaran.
We would want to thank all Russian friends, who came to Dubrovnik and all those who have been assisted that this camp is still alive. The biggest thanks go also to Russian instructors and assistants who are trained the first Russian disabled diver.
