Petar J. DENOBLE, MD, DSc

Petar J. Denoble, MD, DSc,
is a Senior Research Director for DAN.
He received his medical degree from Zagreb University Medical School in 1974.
In 1978 he became Diving Medical Officer in Navy of former Yugoslavia where he completed postgraduate training in naval and diving medicine.
Since 1982 through 1991 he was a diving medicine specialist and researcher at Naval Medical Institute in Split, Croatia. He was involved with development of rebreathers, technical diving, saturation diving, treatment of diving illness and hyperbaric medicine.
In 1991 he obtained a doctoral degree (thesis: The predictors of efficiency in underwater swimming using oxygen-rebreathing apparatus).
In 1992 Dr. Denoble joined DAN as a researcher in dive safety. He is currently the touchstone at DAN for Project Dive Exploration and the DAN Injury and Fatality Database. He coordinates development of software tools for data collection, management and analysis within DAN Research and coordinates standardization of data with dive computer manufacturers.
