First international diving camp for people with disabilities in Serbia "Kikinda 2017"

Between 16th and 18th of June 2017, the first international diving camp for people with disabilities in Serbia Kikinda 2017 took place in the Sports Center Jezero in Kikinda, under the leadership of the Orka diving club and IAHD Adriatic.
 
The main goal of the camp was that diving instructors and other members of the Orka diving club were trained as instructors and assistants for divers with disabilities and obtained the international certificate CMAS DDA (Disabled Diver Assistant) and CMAS DDI (Disabled Diver Instructor).
 
Branko Ravnak, President of IAHD Adriatic, introduced the IDA method to the participants, which enables people with disabilities to make the first steps into the diving world of a therapeutic or recreational scuba diving in a safe way.
 
Goran Todorovic - Faca from Belgrade, a member of the 63rd parachute brigade, presented the results of the systematic education of divers with disabilities. Faca is a licensed diver CMAS P2, who among other things also discovered the underwater world, and dived with sharks in Cuba.
 
On the initiative and invitation of Stojan Bogosavljev, president of the Orka diving club, Slobodanka Fabian from Kikinda, Milan Solaja and Marija Bozic from Belgrade also took part in the camp activities. Although none of those present people with physical impairment did come to the camp to dive, they were encouraged to recognize the three-dimensionality of the aquatic environment where they do not need a wheelchair, with help of using the IDA method.
