8th International Symposium "Diving AST 2010"

8th International symposium DIVING AST 2010 as central academic and social divers’ event took place in Zreče on the 6th of February 2010.  The organizer of the symposium was International association IAHD Adriatic.
 
Symposium was divided in three sessions: apnea, scuba and tech diving. In each session, eminent international scientists and divers who mark the present and history of diving, introduced their achievements and work. 
 
Most eminent guests of the symposium were professor Anatoly M.Sagalevich, a Russian scientist and constructor of the deep sea submersible MIR, awarded with the title Hero of the Russian Federation and a first man who landed with MIR on the bottom of North pole; explorer researcher and journalist Paul Rose from UK long time leader of the expeditions on Antarctica, and author of the BBC series The Oceans. He was also awarded with HM Queen´s Polar Medal, US Polar Medal and with the Ness Medal from the Royal Geographical Society; professor Alf O Brubakk, editor of the - fifth revised edition of the Bennett and Elliott’s Physiology and medicine of diving, a book which is considered the  »bible of diving«.
