Members of the International Association for Handicapped Divers IAHD Adriatic were invited by several Russian umbrella diving and disability organisations to visit Moscow and Star City from 26th to 30th of April 2013. Among sixteen expedition divers were five people with disabilities. All members participated in roundtable on the role of handicapped divers in integrating into society, which was held within the framework of the largest Russian fair of rehabilitation Integration.Life.Society. Expedition continued in Star City, in hydro laboratory of research institute »YU. A. Gagarin research& test cosmonaut training center« that is designed to simulate walking in space, where disabled divers and their escorts from Slovenia, Croatia and Russia were able to dive for the first time in the World.
Branko Ravnak, President of the IAHD Adriatic (www.iahd-adriatic.org), introduced at the round table at fair a ten year work in the field of diving for handicapped divers in Adriatic region and twoyear cooperation with the Russian Diving Federation CRASA, with diving club »Aqua Globus« from Anapa and with the Found »Dostupnaja srijeda«.He stressed out the manifestation of the Slovenian model of schooling of handicapped divers in the Russian environment that brings excellent results thatare shownin a successful schooling of recreational handicapped divers in Russia. Russian diving Federation CRASA, the Russian Sport Association for persons with disabilities, which operates within the framework of the Russian Federation for persons with disabilities, the Fund »Dostupnaja srijeda« and IAHD Adriatic have agreed on the fundamentals of cooperation for the next three year period. The round table was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Moscow, Ada Filip-Slivnik.
The delegation continued within the project Hydrospace without barriers their visit in Star City (Zvyozdny Gorodok), where in the local hydro laboratory (www.gctc.su/main.php?id=130), which is used for EVA simulation of walking for cosmonauts in weightless space, disabled divers and their escorts from Slovenia, Croatia and Russia were able to dive for the first time in the World.The project is remarkable, because it was endorsed and enabled by the representatives of the Russian authorities to the extent it has not been previously experienced. During the unrestricted diving in the pool that was filled with distilled water, divers were able to admire the part of the space station MIR and the latest module of International space station ISS, which will yet make its way into the space at the end of this year.
The visit at Star City was followed by a tour of the classroom with real space modules and simulators in which the cosmonaut trainingtakes place.
The expedition members were then accepted by the Mayor of the Star City Nikolai Nikolajevich Rybkin, which awarded all divers with diplomas, head of the astronauts, aviator cosmonaut and hero of Russia Sergei Aleksandrovich Volkov, and the representatives of the Department of administration and the social development of the Star City. The meeting with Sergej Aleksandrovich Volkov, who continues the work of the outstanding family Volkov, that has always been dedicated to space programme and passed the first steps into space, has been invaluable. During flowers layingon the monument of Jurij Gagarin, visiting the Museum of the Cosmonaut and working room of Jurij Gagarinas well as during exceptional dinner by the Mayor, representatives of Star City and diving and disability organisations, the true extension of this visit was shown. IAHD Adriatic thanked to initiators of this charitable event in Star City which were: Tatiana Ananyina, the head of the Club »Aqua Globus« and a press representative of the Fund Dostupnaja srijeda, the Mayor of the Star City Nikolai Nikolajevich Rybkin and the Department of administration and the social development of Star City.
Although the members of IAHD Adriatic upon departure to Russia expected just dive into the holy water, which represents the boundary between the Earth and the universe, the whole story was at the end distributed to the level of a State visit. They presented the Slovenian country and Slovenian skills, which they have developed for more than ten years, and which was accepted by Russian colleagues with both hands. In return IAHD Adriatic was given an opportunity on which any of the rare chosen ones are waiting for their entire lives.
The members of the delegation have also been accepted by the Slovenian Ambassador in Moscow, Ada Filip-Slivnik, and the Croatian Ambassador Igor Pokaz.
The remaining time was devoted to visiting the main attractions of the Moscow as well as Bolshoi Theatre visit, which impressed all with the ballet performance Spartacus.

28 апреля 2013 годагородской округ Звёздный городок встречал участников международного форума«Гидрокосмос без барьеров». Одним из этапов трёх дневной благотворительной акции «Социальная реабилитация и адаптация людей с ограниченными возможностями посредством дайвинга», в рамках государственной программы «Доступная среда – Люди равных возможностей» стало погружение в гидролаборатории ФГБУ «НИИ ЦПК имени Ю.А. Гагарина».
Инициаторами благотворительной акции в Звёздном городке стали: руководитель клуба «Аква-Глобус», представительфонда «Доступная среда» - Татьяна Ананьина и специалисты отдела социального развития администрации.
Звёздный городок радушно встретил гостей: Президента Конфедерации подводной деятельности РоссииСташевского Валентина Григорьевича, члена технического Комитета Всемирной Конфедерации подводной деятельности, Президента международной организации IAHD словенца Бранко Равнака, первого инструктора СMAS среди людей с повреждениями позвоночника словенца Дамиана Пеклара, а также представителей парадайвинга Российской Федерации и Словении.
Делегацию встречали Глава городского округа Звёздный городок Московской области Николай Николаевич Рыбкин, командир отряда космонавтов, лётчик-космонавт РФ, Герой России Сергей Александрович Волков, а также специалисты отдела социального развития администрации.
Традиционно знакомство со Звёздным городком началось с возложения цветов к памятнику Ю.А. Гагарину.
Далее делегация проследовала по аллее героев к Дому космонавтов. Каждый из гостей получил на память от С.А. Волкова фотографию с автографом.
В Доме Космонавтов участникам благотворительной акции«Социальная реабилитация и адаптация людей с ограниченными возможностями посредством дайвинга» Н.Н. Рыбкин вручил почётные грамоты Главы городского округа и руководителя администрации городского округа Звёздный городок Московской области за участие в Международном форуме «Гидрокосмос без барьеров» по программе «Социальная реабилитация и адаптация людей с ограниченными возможностями посредством дайвинга» и погружение в гидролаборатории ФГБУ «НИИ ЦПК имени Ю.А. Гагарина».
Посещение музея в Доме космонавтов произвело большое впечатление на членов делегации.
Благотворительная акция закончилась обедом дляучастников международного форума «Гидрокосмос без барьеров».
Удивительный мир подводных погружений влечёт к себе отважных людей с инвалидностью. Ведь только в воде и под водой они могут обрести свободу движений. Для многих подводное плавание – это не только спорт парадайвинг, но и неоценимый компонент восстановления, которое даёт стимул жить полной жизнью, чувствовать её многогранность.
Звёздный городок ждёт этих мужественных, добрых и
позитивных людей в следующем году.

Visit of the International forum Hydrospace without barriers in Star City
On 28th of April 2013 Star City hosted the participants of the international forum Hydrospace without barriers. Russian diving Federation CRASA, together with the Foundation Dostupnaja srijeda or Accessible environment organized diving into the hydro laboratory of Research Institute YU. A. Gagarin cosmonaut training center.
Initiators of the charitable event in the Star City were: Tatiana Ananyina, head of the diving club Aqua Globus and spokeswoman of the Foundation Dostupnaja srijeda and the Department of administration and the social development of the Star City.
Star City warmly welcomed guests: Valentin Gregorjevich Stashevskiy, President of the Russian Federation CRASA and a member of the world´s largest diving Federation C.M.A.S., Slovene Branko Ravnak, the President of the International organisation for handicapped divers IAHD Adriatic, Damjan Peklar, the first C.M.A.S. instructor with a spinal cord injury, and disabled divers and their followers from the Russian Federation and Slovenia.
The expedition members were accepted by the Mayor of the Star City Nikolai Nikolajevich Rybkin, head of the astronauts, aviator cosmonaut and hero of Russia Sergei Aleksandrovich Volkov, and the representatives of the Department of administration and the social development of the Star City.
A tour of Star City began with the laying of the flowers at the monument of Jurij Gagarin. The delegation proceeded their way at the Alley of heroes to the “House of the cosmonauts”, where all the participants met with astronaut Sergei Aleksandrovich Volkov and received a signed photo of him. In the House of the cosmonautsMayor of the city Nikolai Nikolajevich Rybkin awarded diplomas to all participants of the international forum Hydrospace without barriers, program Social Adaptation and rehabilitation of people with disabilities through scuba diving” and divers, who dived in the hydro laboratory of the Research Institute YU. A. Gagarin research& test cosmonaut training center.
The delegation´s visit continued with a tour of the Museum in the House of the cosmonauts, who made a big impression on them. Charity event ended with a dinner for all participants of the international forum Hydrospace without barriers.
People with disabilities are very attracted to the wonderful world of diving, because they experience the freedom of movement only in water. For many divers, this is not just a sport but also an important component of the rehabilitation, which provides an encouragement to live a full life and feel versatile.
Star City will also be waiting for courageous and positive divers in the next year.
